The Assemblu00e9ia de Deus Ministu00e9rio Belu00e9m’s journey began in 1927. Missionary Daniel Berg arrived in Su00e3o Paulo with little money. He rented a house in the sparsely populated Vila Carru00e3o. There he held the first service. Four months later three converts were baptized. Growth was rapid. The church moved several times to accommodate its expanding congregation. It moved to Avenida Celso Garcia then to Rua Cu00e2ndido Vale. Later still it moved to Rua Vilela and then Rua Chavantes. The Assemblu00e9ia de Deus Ministu00e9rio Belu00e9m eventually settled in the Belenzinho neighborhood.
Its addresses there changed but the spirit of the church remained constant. The church moved to Rua Alcu00e2ntara Machado then to Rua Dr Clementino. Finally it found a home on Rua Conselheiro Cotegipe. Several pastors led the Assemblu00e9ia de Deus Ministu00e9rio Belu00e9m. Daniel Berg was the first. He was followed by Samuel Nystru00f6m Samuel Hudlund Simon Lundgren Su00edlvio Brito Francisco Gonzaga da Silva Bruno Skolimovski and Cu00edcero Canuto de Lima.
Pastor Josu00e9 Wellington Bezerra da Costa assumed leadership in 1980. At that time the church had 500 congregations 70000 members and 1300 workers. Today it has grown immensely. It boasts 500000 members across greater Su00e3o Paulo. It also includes 2000 churches organized across 93 sectors. More than 15000 pastors serve under its banner. A significant presence exists in the interior. 164 autonomous fields are linked to the Ministu00e9rio do Belu00e9m. This vibrant church continues to thrive. It is approaching its first centenary.
