Right here in Tokyo lies Asread. It is a Japanese animation studio. Asread was founded in November 2003. Kiyonori Hiramatsu is the founder. He was formerly of Xebec.

Asread’s headquarters are here in Higashimurayama, Tokyo.

Initially, Asread focused on subcontracting animation work. They worked for companies like Xebec. Asread also worked for CoMix Wave Films. They helped with the 2004 film “The Place Promised in Our Early Days”.

Asread got its first production request. It was the anime series “Shuffle!”. This series is based on a visual novel by Navel.

Let’s explore some of Asread’s notable works. The studio has produced several television series. “Shuffle!” aired in 2005. “Shuffle! Memories” followed in 2006-2007.

“Minami-ke: Okawari” came out in 2008. In 2008, Asread also co-produced “Ga-Rei: Zero” with AIC Spirits. “Minami-ke: Okaeri” aired in 2009. “Mirai Nikki” captivated audiences in 2011-2012.

Asread continued producing anime series. “I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job” aired in 2012-2013. “Big Order” was released in 2016. In 2018, Asread co-animated “Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King” with Tear Studio. “Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest” was co-animated with White Fox in 2019.

“Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory” aired in 2021. “Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest 2nd Season” was co-animated with Studio Mother in 2022.

Asread has also worked on original net animation. “Busou Chuugakusei: Basket Army” was released in 2011.

The studio has produced several OVAs. These include “Minami-ke: Betsubara” in 2009 and “Mirai Nikki” in 2010. “Corpse Party: Missing Footage” came out in 2012. “Corpse Party: Tortured Souls” was released in 2013. “Mirai Nikki: Redial” also came out in 2013.

Key people at Asread include Kiyonori Hiramatsu. He is the founder and CEO. Hidetsugu Hirayama has worked as an animator since 2005.

Asread’s work spans various genres. They have adapted visual novels, manga and light novels. Asread has also created original stories.
