Since 1973 Dr Robert Chance has served as Senior Minister at Aspen Hill Christian Church. This vibrant congregation is part of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Aspen Hill Christian Church’s mission is bold and energetic. They aim for people to experience cultivate and share the love of God.
The church’s vision rests on three pillars. First its dedicated talented diverse creative and energetic people. Second its talented and gifted ministry including both lay and clergy. Third its size. It’s a mid-sized congregation striving for growth. Large enough for quality programs yet small enough for personal attention.

Sunday mornings at Aspen Hill Christian Church are lively. Coffee and refreshments start around 9:45 am. Adult Sunday school follows at 10:00 am. The main worship service begins at 11:00 am. Children’s Sunday School happens during the service. Afterwards there’s fellowship with refreshments. Often additional events follow like service projects or lunches.
The worship service is informal. It includes hymns a Call to Worship and an invocation. There’s time for sharing and prayer requests. Scripture readings a choir anthem and the offering collection are also part of the service. Communion happens every Sunday. The sermon offers life lessons based on the Bible engaging stories and life examples. Special events like children’s stories sing-alongs baptisms and baby dedications are common. The church celebrates major holidays and also Mother’s Day Father’s Day and an All Saints Sunday.
