Artwall Gallery isn’t your typical museum. It’s a public, open-air gallery located on the Letná wall, along the embankment of Captain Jaroš and Edvard Beneš. This unique location makes it one of the most visited galleries in the Czech Republic. Think about it: countless drivers and passengers pass by every day, experiencing art in their daily commute. Artwall Gallery aims to support the social impact of contemporary art outside traditional gallery spaces. Its location, on a prominent embankment, ensures effective communication with a wide audience. The gallery has a fascinating history. It first operated from 2005 to 2008, showcasing 15 exhibitions of both Czech and international artists. The municipality unfortunately closed it in 2008. However, like a phoenix from the ashes, Artwall reopened in 2011, thanks to the C2C Circle of curators and critics. Today, Artwall Gallery continues to thrive, presenting thought-provoking exhibitions. Its monumental display cases, embedded in the Vltava embankment wall, showcase art focused on social and political issues. Artwall Gallery bridges the gap between urban life and artistic expression. It invites everyone to engage with contemporary art, making it accessible and relevant to all who pass by.
