However illness struck the lead singer. The performance was replaced by CAPAB Ballet’s Sylvia. What a dramatic start to a legendary venue.
Initially commissioned by the Provincial Administration of the Cape Province it was managed by CAPAB the Cape Performing Arts Board. Artscape Theatre Centre boasts three main venues. The Opera House seats a remarkable 1487 people. The Theatre holds around 540. The smaller Arena Theatre offers a more intimate setting for 140 attendees.
