Ever wondered where the future economists of Honduras sharpen their minds? It’s right here at Anexo C1. This building is part of the National Autonomous University of Honduras. Specifically, Anexo C1 is an addition to the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
Anexo C1’s story begins in March 2017. Julieta Castellanos was the president of the university then. However, the building wasn’t finished during her term. Construction concluded in September 2018. Francisco Herrera was now at the helm. Students once knew this area as “los gallineros”. They called it that because of its simple design.
Before Anexo C1, there were simple classrooms. These were basic and perhaps not the most inspiring spaces. This new annex provided a modern upgrade.
Anexo C1 has four levels. The levels are A101-104, A201-204, A301-304 and A401-404. Each level has classrooms for students. These rooms host lectures. They also provide space for group study. Students pursuing degrees in economics use this building daily. It is a hub of activity and learning.
The main building C1 is the home of the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Accounting Sciences. It was created in 1947. The C1 building has four levels. Level one has the Tomasita Castillo de Valle auditorium and the Administration of Companies Department. Level two contains the Marketing laboratory, faculty room, and the Dr. Ramón Valladares Rivera auditorium. It also has the Association of Economic Sciences Students of Tegucigalpa. Level three is home to the Ondina Rheimbolf Aguilar auditorium. It also has the Public Accounting and Finance lab. The fourth level holds the Maria Isabel Martel auditorium.
Tegucigalpa is the capital and largest city of Honduras. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language. It means “silver hill”. The city sits in a valley surrounded by mountains. This location makes for beautiful scenery. The National Autonomous University of Honduras calls Tegucigalpa home. It is the largest and most prestigious university in the country.
