Founded in 1986 Alexandria Presbyterian Church has a rich history. It began its journey in leased spaces. First at the Campagna Center then at the Community Praise Center. Finally it shared space with Del Ray Baptist Church. This symbiotic relationship fostered growth for both congregations. However Alexandria Presbyterian Church yearned for its own space.
The church’s desire for a permanent home led to a remarkable opportunity. A small independent church Alexandria Bible Church was dissolving. They offered their property to Alexandria Presbyterian Church. This was providential as Alexandria Presbyterian Church was already searching for a new home.
The existing building was deemed too small. But the property was perfect for a new worship center. The new building is substantially complete now. It features a sanctuary for nearly 500 worshippers. Nine offices a fellowship hall sixteen classrooms and a parking lot for almost 100 vehicles are also included. The project stayed within existing zoning restrictions. It’s a testament to careful planning and community consideration.
The new Alexandria Presbyterian Church building is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a symbol of growth faith and community partnership. It stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the congregation. The journey to this point involved prayer discussions and a serendipitous offer. It truly embodies the church’s belief in God’s providence. The new worship center is a place for spiritual growth and fellowship for years to come. The dedication to community is evident.
