You can probably see the Gymnasium’s original building, a modest structure, right behind me, but that’s not the whole story. The school quickly expanded. In 1988, the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium became a pioneer in bilingual education. Their Romanist Engelbert Wefers led the initiative to introduce the bilingual branch, which has grown to include 300 students who learn geography, history, and politics in Spanish. A golden winged pug surveys the Rhine. That’s how many remember the Skulpturenpark Stammheim. This isn’t just any park. It’s
