Here at Akalla Gård, you can step back in time. It is a place where history and community intertwine. Akalla Gård was first mentioned in 1323 as Akarli. This referred to a village by the river. The river is Igelbäcken. It flows through this area.

Akalla Gård has a rich history. It stretches back centuries. This area has ancient burial mounds. In 1905, the state took control of Järvafältet. Akalla is part of it. It became a military training area. In 1948, it was part of Spånga. By 1949, it was incorporated into Stockholm. It was then known as Järvafältet. The city sold the land in 1965. After this sale, development began. They built housing and industry.

Until 1980, Akalla Gård was the area’s name. It was one of the last parts of the Million Programme in the 1970s. Akalla became part of northern Järvastaden. This was a response to southern Järvastaden. Tensta was its center. Southern Järvastaden was built in the 1960s. The district of Akalla was formed in 1971. It came from Järvafältet.

Today, Akalla Gård is known for its 4H farm. The 4H organization started in the USA. It now operates in over 80 countries. Their motto is learning by doing. This means caring for farm animals. At Akalla 4H, children meet common farm animals. These include sheep, ponies, and rabbits.
