They lobbied the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and the Tampa-Hillsborough Public Library Board. Their persistence secured 1.8 million dollars. This funded the building of the library we see today.
This isn’t just another library. It’s a hub. Free internet access WiFi and computer training classes are available. The collection includes books magazines music CDs and DVDs. The building even boasts a cooking oil recycling station. A community meeting room and smaller study rooms are available for public use. These were added during a renovation in June 2008.
