The best wood was far away in Sichuan province. Undeterred Ji Gong used his paranormal powers. He pulled logs from a well one by one. The monks piled them high. When they had enough the final log remained half-submerged. They built a pavilion over it calling it the “Divine Teleportation Well”.
Another tale speaks of Ji Gong saving a village. He saw a mountain peak about to crash down. The villagers laughed at his warnings. Ji Gong spotted a wedding procession. He grabbed the bride and ran. The whole village chased him. As they passed the village gate the mountain collapsed. The entire village was destroyed. Ji Gong had saved everyone. Except for one little girl.
