This unique institution, formerly known as Adachi Ward Okimoto Elementary School, stands as a testament to the power of integrated education. Established in April 2006, Adachi Ward Okimoto-Ougi Gakuen merged Okimoto Elementary and Ogi Junior High. This created a combined learning environment. It fostered a seamless transition for students from elementary through junior high. This very building, the east building, houses grades 1-4. The west building, the former junior high, educates grades 5-9. Adachi Ward Okimoto-Ougi Gakuen isn’t just a school. It’s a vibrant hub recognized as a UNESCO School. They are known for their commitment to developing “human power.” This includes international understanding, environmental education, and the embrace of Japanese traditional culture. The school actively participates in programs with Meiho University. Students engage in English language exchange. They also undertake special projects at TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY. They enhance their foreign language communication. In collaboration with local volunteers, the “Flower-lined Street Project,” students cultivate and nurture the school’s flowerbeds. They contribute to the beauty of their surrounding environment. Adachi Ward Okimoto-Ougi Gakuen’s dedication to traditional Japanese culture shines through its sixth-grade students.
