Opened on April 1st, 1994, Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital stands as a beacon of community health. Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital isn’t just a place for treatment. It’s deeply woven into the fabric of this family-friendly neighborhood. A place where the need for emergency medical care, pediatrics, and obstetrics is particularly pronounced. The hospital’s very symbol reflects this connection. Its logo features a Kobushi tree, native to Nerima, cleverly incorporating the “hikari” (light) from Hikarigaoka’s name into the stylized image of the Kobushi flower. The flower’s symbolism speaks to the hospital’s mission: to be a trusted medical institution for the community. Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital also takes its role in disaster relief seriously. It is designed as a general hospital, equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies. Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital has undergone significant changes throughout its history. Originally opened in 1986 as the Nerima Medical Association Hikarigaoka General Hospital, it was initially managed by Nihon University. In 2012, the Community Medical Promotion Association took over, strengthening its focus on local healthcare. A significant move in 2022 relocated Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital to its current site near Hikarigaoka Park. This move allowed for expansion and modernization. The hospital now has 457 beds, a larger ER, and increased ICU and HCU capacity. The hospital also expanded its specializations, ensuring residents can receive specialized treatment locally.
