The school continued to grow and adapt. In 1892, it split into elementary and higher elementary levels. It was renamed Aihara Village Elementary School. In 1902, various village schools consolidated. This led to the creation of Aihara Village Combined Elementary and Higher Elementary School. Aihara Elementary School served as the first branch of this new institution. The modern Sagamihara Shiritsu Aihara Elementary School emerged on April 1, 1950. This marked a new chapter in its history. A new building was inaugurated in March of the same year. In 1959, the school celebrated its 10th anniversary. It established its school song and flag in 1965. Aihara Elementary continued to expand its facilities. A gymnasium was added in 1969, and a lunchroom, enabling full-scale school lunch service, in 1964.
