Originally, this station started as the Meguro division of the Setagaya Police Station on October 20 1923. It wasn’t until October 1 1925 that it gained independence. It was then known as the Meguro Police Station. The station was located in what is now Nakameguro 3-chome.
In 1938 the Meguro Police Station’s area was reduced. The newly created Musashi-Koyama Police Station took over the western part of Meguro district. This division allowed for more focused policing. Then on March 30 1953 the station moved to its current location. The present building was completed on April 30 1977.
The Meguro Police Station has a sizable team. Approximately 250 officers work here. Their identification code is OH. They handle everything from traffic control to crime investigation. The Third Traffic Mobile Unit is also stationed within its jurisdiction. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Third Mobile Unit is here too.
