The library is a three-story building. It has one basement floor. The library boasts a collection of about 74000 general books and 16000 children’s books. The library also has storage for many more. It stores approximately 57000 general books and 12000 children’s books.

The Shibuya City Honmachi Library’s hours vary. From Tuesday to Saturday it is open from 9 am to 7 pm. On Sundays, Mondays, and holidays the hours are 9 am to 5 pm. The library is closed on the second and fourth Mondays. It is also closed on the preceding Tuesdays of the month. Furthermore, the library is closed every second Thursday for maintenance. There are also special closing periods during the New Year holidays.

The first floor houses the service counter. Here, you will find the children’s corner, newspaper corner, and a selection of magazines. Also available are novels and books on household matters. The second floor contains general books. This excludes literature and household-related books. On the third floor, you will find the magazine corner. There are also reading seats. You can enjoy audiovisual materials in a special room.
