Let’s delve into the Fukasawa Church’s story. Its origins trace back to 1951. A Sunday school was started by theological students from Kashiwagi Church. Murata Takeichi a pastor took over. This marked the beginning of the Fukasawa Church.

In 1956 a mission was established. By 1960 a church hall was dedicated. The church continued to grow. A new church hall was dedicated in 1975.

The Fukasawa Church emphasizes three pillars: the Bible praise and prayer. It cherishes vibrant praise during worship. The church actively engages in Sunday services. You can view the church’s activities on its website. There you will find messages from the pastors.

In 1999, Miyuki Imada became the pastor. He resigned in 2010. From May 2010 to March 2011, Takashi Hayashi from the Hongō Church served as an interim pastor. In April 2011, Hideaki Fukunaga took over as pastor. He resigned in March 2014. Takashi Hayashi again served as interim pastor from April 2014 to March 2015.

A new church hall was completed in May 2014. Services began there in June 2014. The dedication ceremony took place in September 2014. In April 2015 Takashi Saitō and his wife Akiko Saitō became pastors. They resigned in March 2022. Since April 2023 Takashi Hayashi has been serving as pastor again.

The Fukasawa Church offers two Sunday services. The first is at 9 am. The second is at 11 am. The second service is also streamed online. The church welcomes everyone including junior high students. It particularly recommends the first service for them.

Special events include monthly hymn gatherings. They occur on the fourth Sunday of each month. The Fukasawa Church also holds kids’ services. These take place during the 11 am service.
