Craving a glimpse into Rakuten’s world? Rakuten Museum awaits you. It is located in Tokyo. Specifically, it is found within the Rakuten Crimson House. This museum offers a look into the history and innovations of Rakuten.
Rakuten Museum is on the 2nd floor entrance of Rakuten Crimson House. The museum allows visitors to see and touch Rakuten’s new initiatives. It is designed to be an engaging experience.
One of the first things you will see is the “Okaimono Panda.” These figures are quite large. You can only see them at the head office in Futako-Tamagawa. They are also at the Fukuoka branch. These pandas are a popular photo spot. Stand on the footprint mark behind the panda for the best picture.
Rakuten Museum also displays the “Tenku” drone. Rakuten jointly developed this drone with the Autonomous Control Systems Laboratory. This multicopter drone has been active in various scenarios since 2016. It started with delivery experiments at Camel Golf Resort in Chiba Prefecture. Rakuten uses drones to offer shopping experiences. They also use them to support people with limited mobility. Drones also help build infrastructure during natural disasters.
Do you want to test your luck? Try the “AI じゃんけん Machine” developed by the Rakuten Institute of Technology. This machine uses AI. It instantly reads hand movements and shapes. The AI then selects a hand to beat you. The AI’s winning rate is set at 99.9%. “Kasiss,” the Viber character who plays rock-paper-scissors, greets everyone with cute sounds and movements.
Sports fans will love the displays of team uniforms. Rakuten partners with FC Barcelona and the Golden State Warriors. Rakuten also owns Vissel Kobe in the J1 League. They also own Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in professional baseball.

Rakuten Museum is open on weekdays only. Visiting hours are from 9:30 to 20:00. Note that it is closed during summer holidays and the New Year period. The museum can be crowded during employee commuting hours. These times are 9:30-10:00 and 17:30-18:00.
