Established in 1760, long before the more famous Hsinchu City God Temple, Xinzhuang Wusheng Temple holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and largest temples in northern Taiwan. In Chinese numerology, nine is the highest single-digit number, representing greatness and auspiciousness, and 108 is a multiple of nine.
