It began as Daisei Gakuen in 1888. Sugawara Kintaro founded it. It was initially a preparatory school. The school aimed to help students enter government institutions.
Over time, Taisei High School transformed. In 1897, it became Taisei Gakuen Junior High School. It underwent several name changes. It finally became Taisei High School.
