Here at the newly renovated Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou a transformation has occurred. It seamlessly blends into its surroundings. Let’s delve into the story of the Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou. It is a vital part of Nerima Ward’s infrastructure. The Tokyo Twenty-three Wards Cleaning Affairs Association manages its operations.

This facility stands as a testament to Tokyo’s commitment to efficient waste management. It also highlights environmental consciousness. Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou plays a crucial role in processing waste. It serves the local community.

Before its recent renovation, the old plant served for 38 years since 1983. The new design includes green spaces. A third of the facility is covered in greenery. Solar power monitors display energy generation. Warm water produced here goes to the local Hikarigaoka district. It helps to heat and cool the area.

Interestingly half of the Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou building sits on a former runway. This runway dates back to when the area was an airfield. The plant’s design minimizes its visual impact. It reduces any sense of confinement.

Inside Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou a massive panel tells the history of the Hikarigaoka area. A real-life crane dominates the scene. This crane can lift up to six tons of waste. On average it handles about three tons per scoop. Waste brought in by collection trucks falls into a bunker. The bunker measures 26 meters by 14 meters. It is 17 meters deep. This allows it to hold approximately 6000 cubic meters of waste.

The crane mixes the waste. This ensures consistent burning. The crane operates automatically. It is controlled remotely. Operators in a central control room monitor everything 24/7. They adjust the furnace’s fire. They maintain optimal burning conditions.

The plant has doubled its power generation capacity. Flue gas scrubbers remove harmful substances. A new system mixes ash with cement. This reduces the amount of waste.

The Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou also features an environmental learning zone. Here visitors can learn about the waste management process. Interactive panels offer quizzes. These experiences make learning engaging.

The Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou shows Tokyo’s dedication to sustainability. It combines functionality with environmental responsibility. As we conclude our visit consider the blend of innovation and community focus here. It makes Hikarigaoka Seisou Koujou a model for modern waste management.
