What secrets do the rocks whisper at Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout? Here at Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout, the stones themselves seem to hold a thousand years of stories. Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout is more than just a viewpoint; it’s a stage where history has unfolded. It’s a testament to Tel Aviv’s vibrant spirit. Imagine standing here in 2011. You see Rabbi Israel Meir Lau inaugurate the lookout. Fast forward to 2012 and then 2015. You witness further developments enhance the site. The panoramic views encompass nearly 300 meters of breathtaking coastline. The lookout stands proudly at 1.3 meters tall. It offers a unique perspective on the Mediterranean’s edge. From here, you can trace the contours of the coastline. You can appreciate the city’s blend of old and new. The story begins with the purchase of the land in 1938. The land was bought by the renowned artist Reuven Rubin. A structure named “The Hidden Valley” was initially built here. Then came World War II and with it, further construction in 1942. The structure served as a military observation post during those tumultuous times. The lookout’s evolution continued after the war. Decades later, approximately 30 meters from the initial lookout, a new addition emerged. This addition features three pillars, each standing around three meters tall. They bear witness to the city’s ever-changing landscape. From here, you can see the vast expanse of the coastline, nearly 300 meters. This view spans from the northern to the southern reaches of HaTzuk Beach, encompassing both small and large sandy stretches. North of Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout, at a distance of approximately 50 meters, lies another notable feature: The “Bell of Freedom”. This serves as a reminder of Israel’s declaration of independence. Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout offers a glimpse into Tel Aviv’s rich past. It stands as a proud monument. It’s a platform that showcases nearly 25 meters of the surrounding area. From this vantage point, you can appreciate the lookout’s design. You can imagine the stories it silently guards. The site was designed in collaboration with architects and the daughter of Reuven Rubin. This ensured a sensitive and artistic approach to the lookout’s development. Metzpor HaTzuk Lookout truly embodies Tel Aviv’s vibrant spirit. It is a treasure to be discovered.
