“The rumble of engines echoes in my ears.” The School of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation at MUST almost vibrates with the spirit of innovation. You might think this is just another school building. But it’s actually a place where Mongolia’s automotive dreams take shape. The school’s roots run deep, all the way back to 1962. That’s when the first class of Automobile Exploitation students enrolled at the National University of Mongolia. Imagine the excitement of those early days, grappling with the mechanics of engines that were still a novelty in Mongolia. Today, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation is a bustling hub of over 2300 students and 100 faculty. They’re not just learning about cars though. The school houses four departments: Transportation, Mechanic-Mechatronics, Machine Production and Technical Mechanics. It even has a Vocational Education and Training Center and three dedicated Scientific Research Centers. The School of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation is more than just a school. It’s a testament to Mongolia’s drive to embrace technology and pave its own path in the 21st century.
