Tucked away in Toronto’s vibrant west end, Steadfast Brewing Co. beckons with a unique blend of community spirit and hoppy delights. Steadfast isn’t just a brewery. It’s a testament to the passion of three friends: Asa Davis, Graham Pinchin, and Diana Rivera. Their shared love for good beer and a strong sense of community brought Steadfast to life in the former Woodhouse Brew Pub space at College and Lansdowne. The brewery retains a relaxed, no-frills atmosphere. Long, high tables, bar stools, and storefront window seats create a welcoming space for groups, casual dates, or even a solo beer enthusiast. On warmer days, the laid-back front patio offers a simple retreat with wooden benches and an understated “Cold Beer” sign. Inside, a captivating mural by Toronto artist Jesseca Buizon graces the wall. Inspired by Toronto’s lost rivers, the mural reflects the brewery’s deep connection to the city’s history. This theme extends to Steadfast’s branding and even inspires the name of one of their signature beers: the Hidden Rivers Pale Ale. The team at Steadfast sought to weave the city’s essence into their brewery, drawing inspiration from its forgotten waterways, shipping and naval history, and old city maps. Now, to the main attraction: the beer! Steadfast offers a selection that leans towards traditional, malty brews while also showcasing unique creations. Their full-time lineup features the classic Going Steady Amber Ale, the crisp Hidden Rivers Pale Ale, and the Dog Days IPA, crafted with Canadian Sasquatch hops and a blend of west coast varieties. These are all available in cans. Their seasonal rotation includes the refreshing Nimbus American Wheat, the malty Beach Daze Gose, and the adventurous Ají Hot Pepper Citrus IPA, available in growlers. For the curious, tasting flights offer a chance to explore a range of flavors. Steadfast also caters to non-beer drinkers with options like Revel Cider, standard bar drinks, house wines, and a rotating special cocktail. Non-alcoholic choices include pop and Italian soda. To complement the drinks, Steadfast offers a selection of snacks. My Empanada provides savory empanadas, General Assembly Pizza offers various pies, and Steadfast’s own special recipe French onion dip with chips rounds out the menu.
