Let’s dive into Hosei University’s history. Tetsu Kanamaru, Osamu Ito, and Masakuni Satta founded Tokyo Hogakusha in 1880. It was a law school. In 1883, the school became Tokyo Law School. Gustave Boissonade became vice principal. He was a French legal scholar. He significantly influenced the university. In 1889, it merged with the Tokyo French School.
