The Levinski Winter Pond fills a specific purpose. It’s designed to vanish in the warmer months, only to reappear like a watery ghost when winter arrives. Before the concrete jungle crept in, this area was a natural basin that collected rainwater. This natural depression was vital for the ecosystem. It provided a much-needed source of water for wildlife and vegetation. Though the cityscape evolved, the need for this natural basin didn’t. So, the Levinski Winter Pond was born. It’s a beautiful example of urban planning working in harmony with nature.
