In 1949, he and his brother embarked on a journey from Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, to Nueva Armenia, Copán, Honduras. They yearned to share their newfound faith in the Church of God. Their journey marked the beginning of the Church of God in Honduras. However, the Iglesia de Dios in Tegucigalpa, the one we stand before today, has its own remarkable tale. This church was founded by the first Latino missionaries of the Church of God to reach Honduras, José Beltrán Rubio and Vennette Darrell de Rubio. They arrived in Tegucigalpa in October 1950.
