The Bradenton Women’s Club and other community leaders championed the idea. World War II delayed its construction. Fundraising finally started in 1947. The hospital began with just 100 beds. Today Manatee Memorial Hospital boasts 319 beds. It’s a private for-profit hospital. It provides a wide range of services. These include emergency medicine orthopedic services and more. The hospital earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. This demonstrates a commitment to high-quality care. Manatee Memorial Hospital continues to expand. A new emergency care center is planned. This will include advanced features like behavioral health rooms and bariatric rooms. The hospital’s history is one of growth and adaptation.
