He also supported Mary Cash. She was Tampa’s first African American nurse. He helped her pursue nursing school despite obstacles. Dr Winton’s dedication earned him the respect of many. In 1954 Centro Espanol Hospital unveiled this bust. It served as a symbol of gratitude for his decades of service.
