Galloping through time, the Korea Racing Authority Equine Museum awaits. It stands as Korea’s first museum dedicated to horses. Since ancient times, horses played many roles. They were vital for transport, communication, agriculture, and even war.

Established in 1988, the Equine Museum complements the Equestrian events of the Seoul Summer Olympics. It is located in Gwacheon, South Korea. Over 50,000 visitors come annually to this horse museum. The audiences range from the elderly to children.

Inside the Horse Race Museum, roughly 1,500 exhibits fill 123 square meters of showroom space. The Equine Museum helps restore and share Korea’s horse culture. It collects and displays horse harnesses, artworks, and folklore. The museum also supports academic research and publishes books. Experiential education programs are on offer.

In 2008, the Horse Race Museum held a special exhibition. It showcased over 100 years of horse racing history. In 2009, modern artwork related to horses was displayed. This included painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photographs.

The Horse Race Museum is part of Let’s Run Park. Let’s Run Park is nestled between Cheonggyesan Mountain and Gwanaksan Mountain. The park includes a race course run by the Korea Racing Authority. There is also a park of 130,000 square meters and a riding training center. Let’s Run Park is a popular spot for family outings.

The Let’s Run Park sometimes hosts a cherry blossom festival. During the festival, night horse racing is featured. The Horse Race Museum is open to all visitors.
