How strong must one be to wrestle a three-headed dog? Here at the Herkulova kašna, we find Hercules, muscles bulging, locked in battle with Cerberus. The Herkulova kašna, or Hercules Fountain, isn’t just a display of artistic prowess. It’s a snapshot of a legendary struggle. The fountain depicts Hercules wrestling Cerberus, the monstrous three-headed hound guarding the gates of the Underworld. Jan Jiří Bendl, the sculptor, captured the raw power and determination of Hercules. He also captured the ferocity and desperation of Cerberus. The Herkulova kašna is a remarkable work of art. It brings a mythical struggle to life right here in Prague.
