Did you know Inspiration Lake isn’t a natural wonder? It’s a 12-hectare artificial lake, the largest in Hong Kong. It was created in 2005 as part of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort development. Inspiration Lake serves a dual purpose. It’s a beautiful recreational area. But it also acts as an irrigation reservoir for the entire Penny’s Bay area. Inspiration Lake is more than just a body of water. It’s a 30-hectare recreation center with a boat center, an arboretum, and a 1,500-meter jogging trail. The trail features exercise areas, allowing you to admire the scenery while working up a sweat. For children, there’s a playground where they can burn off energy. The lake itself has some charming details. Notice the waterfall cascades and water fountains. These fountains can shoot water up to 18 meters high. Inspiration Lake is also surrounded by natural and man-made boulders. Look around and appreciate the diverse collection of 4,800 trees and 430,000 shrubs. If you’re feeling adventurous, head to the boat center. There you can rent paddle boats and surrey bikes to enjoy the lake at your own pace. A convenience store is also located nearby. This provides refreshments and serves as the rental center. Inspiration Lake offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city. It’s a place to reconnect with nature and enjoy a leisurely day.
