Established in 1999, Ling Liang Church M H Lau Secondary School stands as a testament to vision and community effort. This school, nestled in Tai Po, Hong Kong, wouldn’t exist without the generous donation of M H Lau. Ling Liang Church spearheaded the project. They secured the land and funding to make this educational dream a reality. Initially called “Tai Po Ling Liang Secondary School”, the school opened its doors in a borrowed primary school building while its own campus was under construction. Imagine the excitement of those first students and teachers, making do with temporary facilities, knowing they were part of something special.
Ling Liang Church M H Lau Secondary School officially received its purpose-built campus on August 16, 1999. The campus boasts a modern seven-story building with 30 classrooms and various special rooms. It’s a far cry from the original plan, which called for a smaller, 26-classroom building based on a 1995 design. Thanks to updated building standards in 1997, the government amended the plans and provided extra funding. This allowed for the construction of the larger, better-equipped facility we see today. Ling Liang Church M H Lau Secondary School was designed to foster a well-rounded education, emphasizing spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, physical, and aesthetic development.
