Nestled in the heart of Pinelands, the Pinelands Congregational Church has a story waiting to be discovered. The church’s tale begins not within its walls, but in the homes of Pinelands residents. In 1960, a small group, led by Pat Leonard, began holding meetings. Their faith grew, much like the garden city around them. Soon, their meetings outgrew Leonard’s home. The group transitioned to the Guide Hall, a temporary home for their blossoming congregation. They continued to meet there until 1966. That year marked a significant milestone for the Pinelands Congregational Church. They built their own dedicated space on Nerine Avenue. This sanctuary became a focal point for the community. In more recent years, the church’s hall has found a new purpose. It now serves as classrooms for the neighboring Grace School, demonstrating the church’s ongoing commitment to serving the community. The Pinelands Congregational Church is more than just bricks and mortar. It represents the spirit of community and faith that thrives within Pinelands. It is a testament to the dedication of those early members who first gathered in a home filled with hope and a shared vision.
