Time to step back to 1961. That was the year Langley Hill Friends Meeting found its home here. Before that, two other faith communities used this very building.

Langley Hill Friends Meeting now stands as a beacon of peace. It is near Dogue Hill Road and Georgetown Pike. The white church is historic. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Let’s talk about the inside. Though simple outside, the interior was recently renovated. The restoration shows the fine craftsmanship. The building is now fully accessible. A new modern kitchen was installed. Large windows fill the Meeting Room with bright, natural light. It can hold up to 125 people. There is no pulpit. The setup is simple.

Did you know couples can rent the Meeting Room for weddings? They can even use rooms for the bridal party beforehand. You can rent other spaces in the Meeting House. The fellowship room has a kitchen area and a dining space. Tables and chairs are available. Think about birthday or anniversary parties here. The Meeting House is also great for community meetings and seminars.

For smaller groups, there is a lovely space on the first floor. It can hold up to 20 people. Sunlight fills the room almost all day. You can easily move the furniture around.

Langley Hill Friends Meeting became a preparative meeting in 1961. This was under the Friends Meeting of Washington. It became Langley Hill Monthly Meeting in 1969. It is also known as Vienna Monthly Meeting.

Do you need hearing assistance? Langley Hill Friends Meeting has devices for that. The Meeting House is ADA compliant. Regular Sunday worship is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. On the second Sunday of the month, worship is at 9:30 am. Then, there is a meeting for business. That goes from 10:30 am to noon.

Mid-week worship is on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM. It is in person. Langley Hill Friends Meeting welcomes everyone. It seeks to be an inclusive and loving community. Remember the simple exterior. But also remember the warm community inside Langley Hill Friends Meeting.
