Stepping onto the vibrant Montgomery College campus, you’ll find a hub of student life. It’s the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center. This impressive building opened its doors in 2020. The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center stands as a testament to the generosity of philanthropists Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong. Their foundation supports Vietnamese and American students through scholarships. The center brings together essential student services under one roof. This 128,000-square-foot, four-story building simplifies student life. Services housed within the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center include Student Life, Financial Aid, Counseling, and Disability Services. It also houses a Multi-Cultural Student Center, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. In October 2020, the college held a dedication ceremony. Dr. DeRionne Pollard, the former president of Montgomery College, led the event. The ceremony included virtual visits with students, faculty, and staff who would be using the new facility. A year later, in October 2021, the college unveiled the official sign for the building. The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center’s dedication ceremony featured remarks from Emily Nguyen, a scholarship recipient. Local entrepreneur Chanh Tran, a Montgomery College alumnus, also spoke about the center’s impact. The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center represents more than just a building. It represents the college’s commitment to student success.
