Across the sprawling 11.4 acres of Laytonsville Local Park, a story unfolds. Laytonsville Local Park became a part of Montgomery County’s park system in 1968. Today, Laytonsville Local Park offers a variety of amenities for everyone. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the baseball/softball field, the football/soccer field, and the outdoor basketball court. Families can relax by the grills and picnic tables, while children explore the playground. A paved, linear trail winds through the park, perfect for a leisurely stroll or bike ride. Don’t forget your bikes. There are bike racks available near the parking lot. If you plan to use the fields for organized play, remember to obtain a permit. You can find parking easily by following these directions: From I270, head east on Ridge Road toward Observation Drive. Turn right onto Brink Road, then turn left to stay on Brink Road. Finally, turn right onto Goshens Edge Court, and the park entrance will be on your right. The park is patrolled by police for everyone’s safety. Laytonsville Local Park is more than just a park. It’s a place where community thrives, memories are made, and the simple joys of nature are celebrated. And, as of late 2024, exciting plans were in motion to renovate the playground, promising an even better experience for future generations at Laytonsville Local Park.
