Founded on October 22 1973 the Holy Trinity Macedono-Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church stands before you. This wasn’t always its home. Initially the congregation worshipped elsewhere. Then in 1976 they purchased the Anglican church of the Holy Nativity. This cost $350000 a significant sum. Parishioners generously donated most of the funds. Around $40000 came from selling a previous property on Warden Avenue.

The transformation was immense. The Anglican church became the Holy Trinity. Major renovations followed. Engineer George Simeonov oversaw the construction. Chris Kizoff’s organizational skills were invaluable. The iconostasis a breathtaking work created by Nicola Kovatchev was installed. New windows banners and other church accessories adorned the space. Devout parishioners contributed generously to these improvements.

In 1996 large reproductions of frescoes depicting Bulgarian religious history were added. These vibrant images enrich the church’s atmosphere. The mortgage was paid off in 1999 a testament to the community’s dedication. From 2007 onwards further renovations took place. Parishioner volunteers actively participated in these ongoing improvements. The Holy Trinity Macedono-Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church is more than just a building. It’s a living testament to faith community and perseverance. It reflects the dedication and contributions of generations of worshippers. A place of spiritual solace and cultural pride. The Holy Trinity stands as a beacon in Toronto a symbol of enduring faith and vibrant community.
