Founded in 1955 the story of Nova Igreja Batista in S\u00e3o Paulo is a testament to faith. It shows community and the enduring power of belief. Originally known as the Primeira Igreja Batista Ucraniana de S\u00e3o Paulo, its roots are deeply intertwined with the Ukrainian community. The Igreja Batista Russa de S\u00e3o Paulo helped to establish it.

In October 1955 under the leadership of Pr. Sim\u00e3o Molochenko the church was founded. It became a beacon of hope. It provided a spiritual home for Ukrainian and Slavic residents in S\u00e3o Caetano do Sul. From its earliest days, the church was known for its Christian love. Pr. Dmytro Bucky and his wife Kateryna Bucky were among the founding members. They are living witnesses to the church’s dedication.

For 64 years the church thrived under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Several pastors have led the congregation. They are Pr. Sim\u00e3o Molochenko, Pr. Nikola Bezditko, Pr. Dmytro Bucky, Pr. Adam Bondarachek, Pr. Mikola Soltes, Pr. Jo\u00e3o Carlos Conovalov and Pr. Alberto Kenji Yamabuchi. Each contributed to the church’s growth.

Today Nova Igreja Batista is fully Brazilian. Pr. Alberto Kenji Yamabuchi leads the church. It continues its ministry. It shares the message of the Gospel. Nova Igreja Batista proclaims the Good News of Salvation to all people.

Nova Igreja Batista believes in the church. It sees the church as the living body of Christ. It is a place of prayer worship and praise to God. Through the Holy Spirit it grows in faith. The church shares Christian love.
