What started as a basement ministry has blossomed into a vibrant church. Welcome to the Holy Mountain of God Church. This church has a unique history rooted in faith and revelation.

In 1983 Bishop Victor Patterson Sr. established the Holy Mystery Mountain Church. It began in the basement of Kathleen Stroman’s home. Bishop Patterson felt a calling to pastor and guide a congregation.

The name evolved. In 2000 Holy Mystery Mountain Church became the Holy Mountain of God Ministry. Bishop Patterson explained that the mystery had been revealed. The church embraced a new identity.

Bishop Patterson’s journey to ministry is inspiring. In 1975 he almost attended a New Year’s Eve party. His mother invited him to church. He went to not disappoint her. The choir sang. Young people rejoiced. The message was clear. “Choose Ye This Day Whom You Will Serve.” That night Bishop Patterson chose Jesus.

Two years later Bishop Zenobie Davis ordained him. His ordination sermon was powerful. “Whose Servant Are You?” he asked from Matthew 4:8-10. This question defined his ministry.

Bishop Patterson’s early life shaped his path. Born in Washington DC he grew up with five siblings. His mother Evangelist Hattie Patterson raised him. He studied at Washington Bible College. He loves scripture. He trains others to understand its depths.

The Holy Mountain of God Church moved locations over time. It grew and changed. Today it is at 125 Kennedy Street NW. It houses multiple ministries.

Bishop Patterson is a family man. He is married to Evangelist Carmen Patterson. They have six children. Victor Jr. David Victoria Danielle Candace and Willie. They also have eight grandchildren.

Bishop Patterson’s dedication extends beyond his family. He is a pastor teacher and friend. He reaches out to people. He touches lives. He answered his calling. He is a servant of God. He was ordained as Bishop Victor Patterson Sr. on September 26 2015.

The Holy Mountain of God Church continues to serve. It impacts its community. It is a testament to faith and perseverance. It is a place where the revealed mystery continues to inspire.
