Graded School first opened its doors on October 17, 1920. It started as a humble two-room schoolhouse on Avenida São João with just six students and two teachers. The school has grown significantly since its early days. Today, Graded boasts a sprawling 16.5-acre campus on Avenida Giovanni Gronchi, overlooking Paraisópolis in Morumbi. The current campus was built in 1961. Graded School provides an American-style education from pre-primary through high school. The Lower School even offers a Montessori pre-primary program. High school students have several diploma options. They can pursue an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, a Brazilian diploma, or the mandatory SACS-accredited American diploma. The school’s commitment to academics is evident in its diverse curriculum. Students can take Advanced Placement courses like AP Calculus AB and BC. While most classes are in English, Graded School also offers instruction in Portuguese, French, and Spanish.
