Igreja Unida São Joao climaco wasn’t always known by this name. It began as a union of three churches. Igreja Crista Pentecostal Evangelização e Cura Divina “Maravilhas de Jesus”, Igreja Evangélica do Povo, and Igreja Crista Evangélica Unida merged together on July 12, 1963. This union, spearheaded by Pastor Luiz Schiliro, birthed the church we see today. The original name was Igreja Evangélica Pentecostal Unida. Later, legal requirements led to the current name, Igreja Unida São Joao climaco. The church is part of a larger organization, the Convenção Unida Brasileira, headquartered here in São Paulo. Its president is Pastor Leonardo Meyer. The church’s foundation rests firmly on biblical teachings. Members practice full immersion baptism, a powerful symbol of faith and rebirth in the name of the Divine Trinity.
