Several confectioneries and taverns served the local population. Other businesses included a barber a bicycle repair shop and a consumer cooperative. Two tailors and two shoemakers fulfilled local needs. A roofer and two farmers completed the list. Multiple shops offered general merchandise. A savings and loan society further shaped the social life of the village. A tavern a tobacco shop and a coal dealer also operated in this era. There was even a state-run estate. A horticultural business demonstrates that agriculture and local trade thrived in this area.
Slatina u Velvar’s beauty is more than just historical. The Church of St Wenceslas stands as a prominent feature. Its gothic roots date back to around 1352. It was later rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1717. This beautiful church has seen countless weddings baptisms and funerals. It has silently witnessed the joys and sorrows of generations. In 2011 the only service was a bus route between Kladno Blevice and Kralupy nad Vltavou. This route was supported by another line running between Velvary and Kladno. Today the Prague Integrated Transport system runs regular services making the journey to Slatina u Velvar more convenient than ever.
