Jovem Pan’s story began in 1942. A group of friends gathered in an office to create Rádio Panamericana de São Paulo. Oduvaldo Vianna and Júlio Cosi founded it. In 1944, Getúlio Vargas granted the station its broadcasting license. That same year, Rádio Panamericana was inaugurated. It was located on Rua São Bento.

Paulo Machado de Carvalho bought Panamericana. It became part of the Grupo das Emissoras Unidas. Paulo Machado de Carvalho Filho transformed it. It became known as “the sports station”.

In 1965, the name Jovem Pan appeared. Paulo Machado de Carvalho gave Panamericana this name. Tuta led a significant transformation in 1966. Jovem Pan started programs featuring Brazilian pop music stars. Journalistic programs followed in the 1970s. “Jornal da Manhã” became a radio journalism reference.

Antônio Augusto Amaral de Carvalho, Tuta, focused solely on Rádio Jovem Pan in 1973. He acquired his siblings’ shares. Jovem Pan moved to Avenida Paulista in 1976. Jovem Pan FM was inaugurated at the same location.

Jovem Pan launched a pay-TV news channel in 2021. Jovem Pan News has been described as partisan. It favors the Republican Party and conservative causes.

Jovem Pan is the largest radio network in Brazil. It is also the largest in Latin America and the Southern Hemisphere. It reaches over 25 million listeners. It broadcasts via satellite with digital sound. It is accessible worldwide via the Internet.

In 1993, Jovem Pan started the Jovem Pan-SAT project. It transmitted digital audio via satellite across Brazil. The network offered news coverage from major Brazilian cities. It also included reports from Europe, the US, and Japan.

Jovem Pan launched its website in 1997. It provided real-time national and international news. The radio news was immediately available online.

The “Jornal da Manhã” began broadcasting on all affiliated stations in 2000. This made information accessible across Brazil.

In 2007, Jovem Pan launched Jovem Pan Online. Tuta called it “radio with images”. This paved the way for TV Jovem Pan. The company became a major producer of journalistic content on YouTube in Latin America.

Antônio Augusto Amaral de Carvalho Filho, Tutinha, became president of Grupo Jovem Pan in 2014. He emphasized journalism. He transformed the radio station into a television broadcaster.

In 2020, the company launched Panflix. It is a Brazilian streaming service. It offers Jovem Pan programming in video.
