It’s the vibrant home of the Howard Bison men’s and women’s basketball teams. It also houses the women’s volleyball team. The gymnasium is named after John Harold Burr Jr. He was a long-time chairman of the physical education department. He served from 1923 to 1958. And here’s a fun fact. The Burr Gymnasium also houses a pool. This pool is where the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams practice and compete. The capacity of Burr Gymnasium is an impressive 2,700.
