Founded by the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary Assembly Hall stands as a beacon of faith. It is a place of theological education. The Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary was founded in 1951. Initially, it was located on the premises of Kowloon City Baptist Church.
In 1958, the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary inaugurated a new campus. Then in 1999, the seminary relocated to its current building. It is now located at No 1 Nin Ming Road in Sai Kung. The Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary Assembly Hall is part of this campus.
The Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary aims to offer leadership training. It trains Christians called by God. They will minister to churches and society. They proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The seminary became an NGO in 2013.
The Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary offers various degree programs. These include Bachelor of Theology. There is also a Master of Divinity program. Further studies are available at the Master of Divinity level. Other degrees include Master of Religious Education. The Seminary also provides a Master of Christian Studies. Students can also study for a Master of Theology. A Doctor of Theology is also offered.
In 1995, the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary launched a Lay Theological Education program. Then in 1998, they introduced a Distance Education program. These programs promote lay leadership. They also give specialized ministry training.
In 2002, the Applied Theological Education Center opened. It enhances theological training courses. These courses are specifically for churches.
The Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary provides theological educational services. These are available to Christians. Christians from all walks of life can attend. Age, gender, and race are not factors. Teaching areas include the Bible. Students also study Theology. Practical Theology is part of the curriculum. Examples are Religious Education and Pastoral Care. Church Music and Counseling are taught.
The Edna Wong Christian Worship and Arts Education Centre provides Christians with renewed knowledge. It seeks wisdom from the Bible. Students learn about theology and church history. They gain a correct understanding of genuine worship.
The Pastoral Continuing Education Centre meets pastoral needs. It addresses the demands of the ministry.
