“Passed away to soon” is what the characters on a pet gravestone here at \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa might say. Welcome to \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa a Nichiren Buddhist temple in Machida Tokyo. Its history is interwoven with tales of exile and resilience.

\u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa’s story starts in 1557. It was founded by Takeno Saemon Hisanari. Legend says that the priest Nichiren Daishonin rested here. He was on his way to exile in Sado Island. The priest was grateful for the villagers’ kindness. He wrote a Mandala on a piece of wood. This Mandala is now gone.

Initially \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa was a modest temple. It even fell into disrepair. Later it became a branch temple of Morino Myokoji Temple.

In 1971 \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa moved. It relocated from the Shimoyamada district to its current location. The main hall and abbot’s quarters were rebuilt.

The temple grounds also house a pet cemetery. This provides a final resting place for beloved animal companions. \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa offers solace to grieving pet owners.

The temple’s main hall dates back to 1971. The abbot’s living quarters were built at the same time. \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa also features several statues. These include statues of Nichiren and Kishimojin.

\u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa has close ties to other temples. It was once associated with Morino Myoenji Temple.

The temple’s surroundings include the Todoroki Sek窟群. Also nearby are the remains of the Machida City Yakushi Hall.

Today \u4e45\u6210\u5c71\u5bff\u91cf\u5bfa is a place of peace. It is a sanctuary for both people and their pets. It stands as a testament to faith. It also honors compassion in the heart of Tokyo.
