The name remained “Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Memorial Monument”. In September of the same year, the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government designated it as a protected cultural relic.

In August 1994, the original “Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Memorial Monument” was dismantled. But on August 1, 1995, a new monument was erected.
