You see, Lilli was known to frequent the tracks of the old streetcar line 39, which used to end right here. Each time the streetcar came, she would plunk herself down right on the tracks. The conductor, a man of patience and respect for all creatures, would gently lift Lilli aside, only to see her strut right back to her chosen spot once he’d passed.
