Rissne is home to many people who have immigrated to Sweden, and the church serves their community, offering solace and a sense of belonging.

Though the church looks traditional, it has a connection to a past of military history. This area has been inhabited since the Middle Ages. You won’t see medieval castles, but Rissne was originally a farm.
The farm remained a part of the area for hundreds of years. The Svea Artillery Regiment called it home long ago, leaving behind its legacy in the street names like Lavettvagen and Pjäsbacken.
